Our Peer Support Workforce

Maddi
YOUTH PEER WORKER – Flexible
This is Maddi, our most recent workforce peer to join us.
Maddi loves Italian food, camping and exercising.
She wants to use her past experiences in mental health challenges to support others.

Sushi
senior YOUTH PEER WORKER – Clyde/cardinia
Sushi hopes by becoming a peer support worker, she can become that vital support system for a young person so that they are always reminded that they are never alone during their journey but most importantly, that they feel safe and noticed.

Alexander
YOUTH PEER WORKER – Ormond and surrounds
Alexander comes to APTF with a deep passion to offer supports that were never offered to him growing up.
He wants those young people with wellbeing related challenges to know they are not alone.

Laura
YOUTH PEER WORKER – forest hill to bentleigh areas
Laura understands that navigating life can be hard; especially as a young person going through things that friends may not necessarily be going through.
Laura has collected a lot of tools and strategies on her mental health journey that she’s love to share. She’s also more than happy to simply hang out and listen or chat – for Laura, it’s all about meeting people where they’re at.

Daniel
YOUTH PEER WORKER – Bentleigh & Surrounds
Daniel has lived experience of depression, anxiety, eating disorders and neurodiversity.
He understands what current issues young people may be experiencing as a young person himself. He understands that everyone has different needs and not one approach will work for everyone.

Justin
SOCIAL WORKER & YOUTH PEER WORKER – bentleigh and surrounding areas
Justin has over ten years of experience in the mental health field, but more importantly according to him, a lifetime of lived experience with mental illness issues in what he believes to be a system fraught with inconsistencies.
Justin loves forest green (and nature), music and basketball. He is enthusiastic to begin his role as a peer worker and to help APTF evolve using his years of experience working and using services within the service system.
