Board of Directors

Kirstie Edwards

FOUNDING DIRECTOR AND SECRETARY (SHE/HER)

Kirstie uses her living and professional experiences and training to provide peer support to families where at least one family member is experiencing mental health related life challenges.

Kirstie is passionate about ensuring that all family members’ voices are heard and respected and that those families know they are not alone in a journey that can feel totally isolating.

Chris

PRESIDENT (HE/HIM)

In 2025 Chris’ nomination to become our President was unanimously received and warmly accepted.

Chris brings years of experience in the mental wellbeing and community service fields. He also has living/lived experience in supporting many friends and family members in their mental health journeys.

Chris would like to see APTF become a well-recognised, flourishing, resilient and sustainable NFP with some profit for purpose.

Amy

VICE PRESIDENT (SHE/THEY)

Amy’s role is to chair Director meetings in the President’s absence and support the President with other role related matters.

Amy chose to join A Path To Follow as a Director because they support the values of APTF, believe in the services offered, and thought that with both their lived/living experiences and professional experiences as a psychologist they could provide a helpful perspective and contribution to the service.

Nicki

(SHE/HER)

Nicki is a Director who brings a vast professional knowledge in all things HR. Nicki would like to see APTF as a ‘household name’ that’s recognised for its human/people centred approach. That is financially viable, in a position to support more employees and have more resources/offices/collective skills in order to reach further throughout the community.

Sushi

senior YOUTH PEER WORKER – Clyde/cardinia

Sushi hopes by becoming a peer support worker, she can become that vital support system for a young person so that they are always reminded that they are never alone during their journey but most importantly, that they feel safe and noticed.

Laura

YOUTH PEER WORKER – forest hill to bentleigh areas

Laura understands that navigating life can be hard; especially as a young person going through things that friends may not necessarily be going through.

Laura has collected a lot of tools and strategies on her mental health journey that she’s love to share. She’s also more than happy to simply hang out and listen or chat – for Laura, it’s all about meeting people where they’re at.

Mo

YOUTH PEER WORKER –                          scoresby – Bentleigh & Surrounds

Mo has had personal experiences navigating anxiety and the complex challenges around identity, belonging, and cultural expectations.

He wants to create space that feels safe, respectful, and real where there is no pressure to act a certain way or meet any expectations. I understand that not everyone is ready to talk straight away, so I try to hold space in a way that feels open and calm, whether that means having deep conversations or just sitting together in quiet.

Jashleen

YOUTH PEER WORKER –    Clyde and surrounding areas

Jashleen has living experiences with depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

Her experiences with mental health have taught Jashleen a lot and given her a personal toolkit of strategies and insights.

Sharing this with others, especially young people who are in the midst of their own own challenges, feels deeply meaningful for Jashleen. She loves building connections and being that person who can offer even the smallest bit of hope or comfort, because she knows how powerful that can be
