I feel like every time I begin a newsletter, I start with something like "wow, it's been a while"...
And yes, it has again! Not because I don't want to keep regular contact with you, but because putting all these thoughts in my brain and all the happenings of APTF onto virtual paper is something I find a little daunting. Anyhow, put it off any longer I will not!!!
So, at a glance?
- We have been awarded a significant grant from Murrumbeena Community Bankππππ
- Want to volunteer some of your time? We have opportunities for someone who loves comms and would like to get the experience in taking over our newsletter and also someone who loves fundraising and/or helping to form partnerships with local businesses
- We still have some times available to sub lease our space, for partners who align with our community related values
- We have an amazing new website.
- We have an amazing new Senior Peer Lead, Sushi.
- We want you to meet another of our amazing Directors - President Greg!
- Introducing our Wishlist
Plus more in our regular newsletter sections...

BIG NEWS We recently applied for and received a significant grant to provide free Youth Peer Support to 6 young people for 6 months with Murrumbeena Community Bank. We are most thankful to their Board of Directors, with a special mention to Dennis Tarrant who has supported us from the very beginning when we were a small volunteer initiative. We cannot wait to share with you more details of our journey as we consolidate the special couple of Secondary Colleges we are partnering with for this project.

Consultancy Continuing to advocate at a systemic level is really important to Kirstie, for without innovation and change at a system wide level our young people and families will continue to be offered service not appropriate to their needs. Here's what she's been up to. Statewide Women's Service Kirstie has recently joined The Statewide Womenβs Mental Health Service's Engagement (WREN) and Participation Group. The WREN is an Australian first, providing in-hospital and in-home mental health treatment for women and people who identify as women. Kirstie welcomes feedback from past users of mental health in-hospital and in-home services, as she contributes to the building of this service, which is to open soon.
Mental Health Trauma Statewide Service Another initiative from the Royal Commission into Mental Health, Kirstie has been shortlisted as Co-Chair for this very service. While Kirstie holds hope that she is in for a chance, what is more important to her is to be working in a space that is now beginning to more authentically hear our voices; as service users and supporters

Things we loved this month |
Volunteer With Us
While we are many things here at APTF, we are not experts in marketing or fundraising, but we know we need team members who are. If you are interested in supporting us in communications and marketing and/or fundraising, please reach out. We'd sure love to hear from you. info@apathtofollow.com.au

Sub leasing
We are offering our space/s on a sub lease basis. This will enable us to sustain our presence here and begin to make meaningful partnerships with other like minded services. Reach our for pricing and info at info@apathtofollow.com.au

New website
We are really, really pleased with our updated website. Using our existing branding and sticking true to our key messaging, Claire has created a site that is not only attractive to look at but communicates our service offerings in a much more reader friendly way. We love it. Thanks, Claire.ππ

Wishlist
We are beginning to ask our young people what they would like to see in our space. It will come as no surprise that this is at the top of the list. We are seeing such authentic and genuine rapport being built as our Peers sit side by side playing games. If you can help contribute to the purchase of one, please reach out. π info@apathtofollow.com.au
